NYCC Apologizes After Helluva Boss Panel Disruption as Brandon Rogers Defends Castmates

New York Comic Con has apologized after repeated interruptions disrupted a Helluva Boss panel, while actor and creator Brandon Rogers has defended his decision to confront the attendee responsible.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the panel was interrupted multiple times as Rogers appeared alongside cast and creative team members including Vivian Nixon, Vivienne Medrano and Harvey Guillén. The situation escalated when an audience member repeatedly shouted over speakers, prompting Rogers to call for event staff to intervene.

NYCC responds to the disruption

ReedPop, the organizer behind New York Comic Con, acknowledged the incident and apologized for not addressing the repeated disturbance sooner. The organization said it was taking steps aimed at preventing similar situations at future panels.

Rogers later explained that his reaction came from wanting to protect his castmates and preserve an event that fans had waited to attend. The confrontation quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the convention weekend.

A viral moment from Comic Con

The incident drew attention beyond the Helluva Boss fan community because it raised broader questions about panel etiquette and how conventions should respond when audience behavior repeatedly interrupts guests.

Helluva Boss, created by Medrano, has developed a large online following and features a wide voice cast. Despite the disruption, the panel continued and the cast was able to finish discussing the animated series.
