Tom Welling Laughs Off Awkward Photo Mishap During Smallville’s 25th Anniversary at NYCC

Tom Welling stepped into the spotlight at New York Comic Con for Smallville‘s 25th anniversary just hours after an accidental social-media photo mishap unexpectedly put him in the headlines.

People reported that Welling appeared alongside former co-stars at the convention after briefly posting a revealing reflection of himself while trying to share a view from his hotel. The image was deleted, and Welling did not make the mistake the focus of his Comic Con appearance.

Smallville cast reunites in New York

Welling joined Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk and Erica Durance for a panel celebrating 25 years since Smallville first introduced audiences to its young Clark Kent.

During the discussion, Welling also recalled a bizarre moment from the show’s original run when co-star John Glover brought him a fan-made fake nude image and asked whether it was real. Welling jokingly told him it was and signed it.

Twenty-five years of Smallville

The reunion shifted the focus back to the enduring popularity of the Superman prequel, which ran for 10 seasons and remains one of the defining superhero television shows of its era.

Welling reflected on being relatively new to acting when he landed the role, saying that his own inexperience helped mirror Clark Kent’s uncertainty as the character grew into his identity.
