Marvel gave Daredevil: Born Again fans a major surprise at New York Comic Con, where Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter and Finn Jones appeared together as new footage teased a long-awaited Defenders reunion.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the convention presentation previewed the show’s upcoming third and final season, with Cox returning as Matt Murdock, Ritter as Jessica Jones and Jones as Danny Rand, better known as Iron Fist. Mike Colter, who plays Luke Cage, was not at the panel, but his return was acknowledged as part of the reunion.
The Defenders are coming back together
The new footage reportedly shows the heroes being pulled into the same orbit again, including a sequence involving police badges and a joke from Jessica Jones about the missing fourth member of the team.
The reunion is significant for Marvel television fans who have waited years to see the street-level heroes share the screen again after Netflix’s The Defenders.
Matt Murdock faces the consequences
The footage also points to a difficult chapter for Matt Murdock following his conflict with Wilson Fisk. Additional glimpses reportedly show Matt in a makeshift Daredevil look, alongside appearances from Fisk and Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter.
The Comic Con reveal gives Marvel’s street-level corner a major nostalgic hook as Born Again moves toward its concluding season.
