Fourth Wing TV Series Finds Its Violet and Xaden in Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya

The long-awaited Fourth Wing television adaptation has taken a major step forward by finding the actors who will lead its fantasy world.

Esther McGregor has been cast as Violet Sorrengail, while Emilio Sakraya will play Xaden Riorson in the Prime Video series based on Rebecca Yarros’ bestselling romantasy novels. McGregor, the daughter of actor Ewan McGregor, is stepping into one of the most closely watched roles in a recent book-to-screen adaptation.

A major casting milestone

The project has been in development for years, making the announcement particularly significant for readers waiting to see who would portray the central dragon riders. Sakraya is known for projects including Those About to Die and Tribes of Europa.

The series is being produced by Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society for Amazon MGM Studios. With the two central roles now revealed, attention will turn to the rest of the ensemble and the production timeline.

Fourth Wing follows Violet as she enters a dangerous military academy where candidates train to become dragon riders. The novels’ enormous fan base means expectations for the television adaptation are already high.
