Dominic Cooper Says He and Amanda Seyfried Could Dream Up Mamma Mia 3

Dominic Cooper is keeping hopes for Mamma Mia 3 alive after joking that he and former co-star Amanda Seyfried might use their latest reunion to come up with an idea for the long-discussed sequel.

Cooper and Seyfried reunited at the Hamptons International Film Festival, where both were promoting separate projects. The pair famously played Sky and Sophie in the original 2008 musical and later returned for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Dominic Cooper is ready for another Mamma Mia

Cooper made clear that no third movie has officially been announced, but his enthusiasm matches comments from several members of the franchise’s ensemble. Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Cher and Seyfried have all expressed interest in returning if the right story comes together.

Universal has also indicated that conversations around another installment have continued. Producer Judy Craymer has long discussed expanding the movie series, while questions remain over how a new story might incorporate Meryl Streep’s Donna after the character’s fate in the second film.

Seyfried has previously floated the idea of introducing a younger generation to the story, even mentioning Sabrina Carpenter as a possible addition.

A reunion fuels fresh sequel speculation

The timing of Cooper and Seyfried’s reunion naturally reignited fan interest. The two actors dated after meeting on the first movie but have maintained a friendly relationship in the years since.

Their appearance together comes as Seyfried continues a busy run of new projects. Celebrity Daily recently covered Seyfried’s description of her friendship with Cooper as familial.

For now, Mamma Mia 3 remains a possibility rather than a confirmed production. But with the original cast still enthusiastic and Universal openly interested, Cooper’s playful suggestion adds more momentum to one of Hollywood’s most persistent sequel conversations.
