The cast of 30 Rock reunited in New York for a one-night-only 20th anniversary celebration that brought Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski back together in front of thousands of fans.
Variety reported on October 13 that the event at Radio City Music Hall was hosted by Conan O’Brien and featured surprise appearances from Jon Hamm, Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Will Forte and Brian Williams.
A live celebration of 30 Rock
The NBC comedy, created by Fey, premiered in 2006 and ran for seven seasons through 2013. Set behind the scenes of a fictional sketch-comedy program, the series became one of the defining television comedies of its era and won numerous awards during its run.
Fey, Baldwin, Morgan and Krakowski revisited the show’s characters and jokes during the reunion, leaning into the deliberately chaotic style that made the series famous. O’Brien opened the event with a characteristically exaggerated introduction before the core cast took the stage.
The reunion also raised money for charity
The anniversary show doubled as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem. Fey explained that the organisation was chosen both for its importance in New York and as a playful reference to a memorable storyline involving Morgan’s fictional character Tracy Jordan.
The event was designed as a live-only experience rather than a televised special, making it a rare reunion for fans who attended in person.
Two decades after its debut, 30 Rock continues to have a strong cultural footprint, and the packed anniversary event demonstrated that enthusiasm for Liz Lemon, Jack Donaghy and the TGS crew remains very much alive.
