San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has suffered a devastating injury.
The 32-year-old star athlete went down with an injury during the team’s playoff game on Sunday (January 11) against the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia, Penn.
As soon as he went down on the field, the injury looked serious. They brought out a cart to take him back to the locker room, and the team’s head coach, Kyle Shanahan, did confirm he tore his achilles tendon.
The 49ers won the game, but George is a huge and integral part of their offense.
Usually, achilles tendons can take many months to a year to heal in full, so it looks like his 2026 play time is in doubt.
The 49ers will now head back to Seattle to take on the Seahawks in a rematch from just a few weeks ago.
