“I appreciate all the support and the love we’ve been shown in the aftermath of what happened last weekend. It means a lot to us. It’s an honor to be here this evening,” Delroy said, via The Wrap.
Prior to him speaking, Delroy and Ryan received a standing ovation from the audience when they walked on stage to present the award for Best Actress In a Motion Picture, which was awarded to Cynthia Erivo for Wicked: For Good.
Also during the awards show on Saturday night, Regina Hall took to the stage to present the Breakthrough Performance In a Motion Picture award, when she took a moment for Delroy and Michael B Jordan.
She asked the crowd to “take a moment for the two kings in the audience,” while gesturing towards them.
“I just send you so much love for your class,” she added.
At the NAACP Image Awards, Delroy picked up the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his work in Sinners. The movie picked up several awards that night!
