Billy Crystal is looking back on more than half a century of marriage as he prepares to bring one of his most personal stories to Broadway.
The actor and comedian has reflected on his 56-year marriage to wife Janice, recalling that he felt an immediate connection when they first met as teenagers. The couple married in 1970 and later welcomed two daughters.
Love, loss and a new stage show
Their relationship is woven into Crystal’s upcoming one-man Broadway production 860, which takes its name from the family’s longtime Pacific Palisades home. The house was destroyed during the 2025 wildfires, turning the show into a story about both family memories and rebuilding after loss.
Janice is also involved as a co-producer, making the production a shared family project. Crystal has long used personal experiences as material for comedy, and the new show is expected to blend humor with reflections on grief, resilience and the life the couple built together.
The Broadway production is scheduled to open at the Imperial Theatre on October 21.
