John Stamos Reveals Beach Boys’ Mike Love Is Facing Serious Health Challenges

John Stamos has shared an emotional update about longtime friend and Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love, saying the 85-year-old musician is facing serious health challenges.

Stamos posted the message while traveling to Nashville to perform with the Beach Boys at the Ryman Auditorium on October 11. He described Love as a friend, mentor and father figure and said the singer remains determined to perform despite concerns about his health.

Mike Love remains committed to the stage

According to Stamos, doctors, relatives and friends have encouraged Love to focus on his health, but the veteran performer still wants to be with his band and audience. Stamos did not disclose a specific diagnosis.

Recent concert footage had already prompted concern among fans after Love appeared more physically fragile and performed while seated. The Nashville appearance followed the band’s return to the stage after earlier cancellations.

Stamos reflects on four decades of friendship

Stamos, who has performed with the Beach Boys for decades, said Love taught him important lessons about entertaining and connecting with an audience. His message focused on appreciating the time they still have together while acknowledging uncertainty about the future.

Representatives for Love had not publicly detailed the nature of his health problems at the time of the update.
