Bryan Cranston has revealed that his business partnership with Aaron Paul almost never made it past the tasting stage.
The Breaking Bad star told PEOPLE that he was initially very hesitant about creating a mezcal brand with his former costar because of an unpleasant experience with the spirit when he was younger.
Cranston had to be convinced
Cranston recalled tasting mezcal years ago and deciding he never wanted to try it again. That memory made him skeptical when the idea that eventually became Dos Hombres began taking shape.
He ultimately changed his mind, and Cranston and Paul launched the brand together in 2019. Their collaboration extended a friendship that had grown during their years playing Walter White and Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad.
A post-Breaking Bad partnership
The actors have continued to make public appearances together while building the business, turning their famous on-screen chemistry into a real-world partnership.
Cranston said moving forward with the project has had a positive impact beyond the brand itself. His latest comments offer another example of how one of television’s most recognizable acting partnerships has continued long after the acclaimed AMC drama ended.
