George and Amal Clooney Reflect on 12 Years of Marriage at The Albies

George and Amal Clooney are celebrating more than a decade of marriage with a simple message: they still feel lucky to have found each other.

The couple reflected on their 12-year marriage while attending the 2026 Albies at London’s Natural History Museum on October 9. The annual event, created through the Clooney Foundation for Justice, recognizes people who take significant risks in the pursuit of justice and human rights.

Speaking at the event, the couple described themselves as fortunate to have found the right partner. Their comments offered a rare personal moment during an evening primarily focused on the work of activists, journalists and human-rights defenders.

George and Amal married in Venice in 2014 after meeting the previous year. They are parents to twins Alexander and Ella, who are now 9.

The Albies return to London

The fifth annual Albies brought together a high-profile guest list that included Brad Pitt, Emma Thompson and Anna Wintour, but the Clooneys emphasized that the honorees were the real focus of the evening.

The 2026 honorees included journalists and activists working on free speech, women’s rights and other justice issues around the world. The Clooney Foundation for Justice says its work includes providing legal support in dozens of countries.

The London event combined Hollywood visibility with the foundation’s advocacy mission, giving the Clooneys an opportunity to use the attention surrounding the gala to spotlight people whose work often happens far from the entertainment world.

For George and Amal, the night also offered a chance to reflect on a marriage that has now lasted 12 years while continuing the philanthropic work they have built together.
