Greta Van Fleet Returns After Three-Year Break With New Album Palace for the People

Greta Van Fleet is officially back in a major way. The Michigan rock band has released its fourth studio album, Palace for the People, following a three-year break that gave the group time to reset creatively and personally.

In a new Vogue interview published alongside the album’s October 9 release, frontman Josh Kiszka reflected on how the band has changed since its early years and why stepping away helped its members reconnect with what they wanted to make.

The group — Josh, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner — built a global following with its theatrical take on modern rock and has earned multiple Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Rock Album.

A new chapter for Greta Van Fleet

Josh explained that the title Palace for the People was inspired by London’s Alexandra Palace and the idea of a public gathering place. That theme fits the band’s view of concerts as spaces where fans of different ages and backgrounds come together.

The singer also discussed how coming out publicly affected his songwriting and connection with listeners. The new material draws on personal changes, including the end of a long-term relationship, while keeping the band’s larger-than-life musical identity intact.

A world tour is next

Greta Van Fleet’s return will extend beyond the new album. The band is preparing for its Into the Beginning world tour in 2027, with tickets scheduled to go on sale October 15 at face value.

After months of speculation about the band’s future, the album and tour make the answer clear: Greta Van Fleet is entering a new era rather than winding down.
