Bridgerton is officially turning its attention to Francesca and Michaela for Season 5, with Netflix confirming the pair will lead the next chapter of the hit period romance.
Hannah Dodd returns as Lady Francesca Stirling, while Masali Baduza plays Michaela Stirling. Netflix says the new season is now in production outside London and is expected to arrive in 2027.
Francesca and Michaela become Season 5’s lead couple
The announcement gives fans a clearer picture of where the main series is heading after its previous romances. Executive producer Shonda Rhimes is also teasing more to come as the show continues expanding the stories of the Bridgerton family.
Francesca’s storyline has attracted particular attention because the television adaptation introduced Michaela, a gender-swapped interpretation connected to Michael Stirling from Julia Quinn’s novels. Their developing relationship now moves from a long-term tease into the center of a full season.
