Joe Rogan Renews Spotify Partnership With New Multi-Year Deal

Joe Rogan and Spotify are extending one of podcasting’s most influential partnerships with a new multi-year licensing agreement for The Joe Rogan Experience.

Spotify confirmed the renewal on October 8. The company did not publicly disclose the financial terms, although industry reporting has described the agreement as another major deal. The partnership between Rogan and Spotify began in 2020.

The Joe Rogan Experience remains widely distributed

Unlike the early phase of the Spotify relationship, new episodes are not limited exclusively to Spotify. The show can continue to reach audiences across other major platforms while remaining a key part of Spotify’s podcast business.

Spotify says The Joe Rogan Experience has 18 million followers on its platform and has remained its most-followed podcast since the partnership began. Rogan launched the show in 2009 and built its format around long-form conversations with guests from entertainment, sports, science, politics and technology.

Spotify keeps one of podcasting’s biggest names

The renewal gives Spotify continuity around a show that has helped define its podcast strategy for six years. Rogan said the partnership has been a strong fit and that he is excited to continue working with the company.

The agreement also reflects the broader shift away from strict podcast exclusivity. Spotify can retain a commercial relationship with a major creator while the program remains available to audiences on multiple services.
