The cast and creative team behind Brooklyn Nine-Nine shared an emotional tribute to late star Andre Braugher during a New York Comic Con retrospective on October 8.
Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz and co-creator Dan Goor reflected on Braugher’s presence on the beloved comedy and the impact he had on the people who worked alongside him.
Remembering Captain Holt
Braugher’s portrayal of Captain Raymond Holt became one of the defining performances of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. During the panel, his former colleagues became visibly emotional as they remembered both his work and his personality away from the cameras.
Goor also acknowledged how difficult it is to imagine any potential reunion without Braugher. The actor died in December 2023 after lung cancer.
A reunion filled with memories
The New York Comic Con appearance brought members of the Nine-Nine family together to celebrate the series and revisit its legacy. The conversation about Braugher stood out as one of the panel’s most personal moments.
Years after the show’s original run, Captain Holt remains central to the way fans and cast members remember the comedy. The NYCC tribute showed how strongly Braugher’s influence continues to be felt.
