Constance Zimmer Reveals Private Stage 0 Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Says She Is Cancer-Free

Constance Zimmer has revealed that she spent much of 2026 privately undergoing treatment for stage 0 breast cancer while continuing to work through one of the busiest periods of her career.

The UnREAL and Entourage actress said she was diagnosed in March with ductal carcinoma in situ, commonly known as DCIS. Zimmer shared her experience during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, explaining that she had kept the diagnosis private while promoting her recent work and attending major industry events.

Zimmer learned of the diagnosis in March

Zimmer said she received the news from her doctor over a Zoom call while she was away from home. The diagnosis came as a shock, even though DCIS is often described as stage 0 because the abnormal cells are contained within the milk ducts and have not invaded surrounding breast tissue.

Her account underscores that the words “stage 0” do not make the experience emotionally simple. Zimmer described facing fear and major treatment decisions while maintaining a public schedule.

She ultimately pursued breast-conserving treatment. According to Zimmer, it took three surgeries over three consecutive weeks to remove the affected tissue, followed by radiation treatment.

She kept working while undergoing treatment

Zimmer’s diagnosis remained private as she promoted Love Story and moved through a high-profile awards period. That contrast between her public appearances and private medical treatment is a central part of why she chose to share the story now.

The actress said she considered different surgical options before proceeding with lumpectomy-based treatment under the care of breast surgeon Dr. Kristi Funk. Zimmer has discussed the experience publicly as a way of encouraging awareness and informed conversations about screening and treatment choices.

Medical decisions for DCIS vary by patient, and Zimmer’s experience should not be treated as a universal treatment plan. Her story reflects the course recommended in her individual case.

Zimmer says she is now cancer-free

The most important update is a positive one: Zimmer says she is cancer-free following surgery and radiation. She has described the past several months as an intense journey that unfolded largely outside public view.

By sharing the diagnosis during October, Zimmer joins other public figures who have used Breast Cancer Awareness Month to encourage screening and discussion while emphasizing that cancer experiences can look very different from person to person.

For fans who saw her working throughout the year, the disclosure adds new context to those appearances. Behind the red carpets and press events, Zimmer was navigating treatment, recovery and uncertainty—and she is now choosing to tell that story on her own terms.
