Trump Shares Reason Why Wife Melania’s Documentary Is ‘Not Good’ for Their Relationship

Donald Trump revealed a conversation that he had with first lady Melania Trump about her recently released documentary and what it means for their relationship.

On Thursday (February 19), the 79-year-old president addressed the 55-year-old first lady’s self-titled documentary while speaking at an event for his newly formed Board of Peace.

Melania, though critically panned, brought in $7.2 million at the box office in its first weekend of release. It’s now considered the best debut for a documentary in a decade, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While speaking to the press at his event, Donald referred to his wife as “a big movie star.” However, he recalled telling her that her new status was “not good” for their family dynamic.

“She has a very successful movie out right now, like number one,” the president said. “She’s a big movie star.”

Continuing, he added, “And I always say it’s trouble because I always say there’s not room in one family for two stars. I told her, ‘We can’t have two stars in one family.’ So I don’t know what that means, but it’s not… It’s not good.”

“But it is good because we’re proud of her,” he said. “People in the United States love the first lady. And she did the movie, and it’s become the biggest-selling documentary in 20 years.”

He said that theaters “are all packed,” claiming that women have seen the project “two or three times, four times.”

There does not seem to be evidence to support the president’s claim that the documentary is the biggest documentary in the last two decades. Also, it is not still the number one movie at the box office.

Per a report by The Palm Beach Post, Melania is now only available to watch “in select theaters.”

As of Sunday (February 22), it’s no longer in the top 11 at the box office, according to reporting by Deadline.

The president recently made headlines after he refused to answer a question about his wife and described it as “the toughest question.” Earlier this year, he revealed something that she begs him not to do because it’s “so unpresidential.”
