Glambot Creator Joseph Kahn Reacts to Cole Walliser Drama & Explains How to Recreate It Yourself

Joseph Kahn is weighing in on the recent Glambot drama.

Cole Walliser, currently the director of the camera at awards shows, recently made a video after an interaction with Jennifer Lopez that some people felt seemed rude.

He then came under fire on social media after a woman named Yinka Animashaun leaked her emails with him from 2019, in which he appeared to be rude and unprofessional in his replies.

And now, Joseph, who originated the camera concept, is speaking out.

If you didn’t know, Joseph is known for directing music videos for superstars like Britney Spears and Taylor Swift.

“I keep hearing my name and Glambot. Yes I created it back in 2016 for E! The lighting, camera work, lens choices, and methodology are all my design. I ended up having to both operate and win a Grammy at the same time at the Grammys lol. It was too much. It’s fun but I’m busy,” he wrote.

“I never really intended it to just be a series of poses though. Even if it’s a couple seconds long, tell a story. Let’s get to know them. I don’t shoot Glambot anymore, but I do shoot Super Bowl commercials. I’ve got two coming up this year. See you three weeks!”

When a fan asked if he does funerals, he responded: “Yes I will shoot your dead aunt on a Glambot for $3 million. Deposit 10% and her wig.”

“Guys I swear I’m not salty. Just having fun. It’s actually very common in my career to do something and then a client takes elements, equipment, workflow, crew, methodology and replicate it without me. I know that sounds like shade, it’s not. That’s just the nature of executing for brands. It becomes their image. They paid for it, that’s the professional agreement, and you have to move on to the next idea. You just have to come up with new s–t. There’s always new s–t. That’s the game,” he went on to say.

Joseph then went on to say how to do it yourself.

“Do you want to operate a glambot? Here’s how you do it. Put your iPhone on a selfie stick. Record in slow motion. Swing it at someone really fast. Stabilize it with editing software. Slow it with a good app. Congrats. You just made $300,000 at a wedding,” he wrote, mocking the Cole situation.

“Everyone saying an iPhone can hit someone in the face. Yes, so can a Glambot, and it’s much bigger and can kill a celebrity. It’s a heavy, moving unstoppable robot arm. Part of the methodology I designed was how to space everyone from the rig to stay out of danger, and set order of operations including warnings so no one gets killed. I hope they follow it.”

Former Glambot director Nigel Barker revealed how much it actually costs to rent it for a private event.
